A fire broke out in the Kayseri Covered Bazaar which was built in the Ottoman era in Kirkuk city center in Iraq mainly inhabited by Turkmen.
A Fire broke out in Kirkuk’s Kayseri Bazaar, an Ottoman Legacy,
Kays Kerküklü, Press Officer of Kirkuk Fire Fighting Department made a statement to an AA reporter saying that over 400 places of business in the bazaar had been destroyed because of the fire which had started in Kayseri Covered Bazaar as a result of an unknown reason.
Numerous fire fighting vehicles had been dispatched to the area and no loss of life incurred because the fire broke out at night.
Kerküklü said that efforts to put out the fire were still ongoing.
